Americans Are Uneasy About Obamacare Replacement Plan

The last several months have brought significant speculation about President Trump’s long-awaited legislation to replace Obama’s Affordable Care Act (ACA). Though Trump has pushed lawmakers to get onboard with his American Health Care Act (AHCA), the Act was ultimately withdrawn from vote with Obamacare (OC) remaining as the law of the land for the foreseeable future. Still, it’s likely that some form of the bill will make a return to the docket in the near future, leaving all eyes on the Oval Office for signs that a revision is in the works.

Healthcare InfoHacks — A New Age in Cyber Security

info-hacks-2.jpgHollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, based in Los Angeles, California, was down for a week recently following a ransomware cyber attack on the hospital’s internal networks. The attack, where hackers encrypted sensitive patient data and offered to reverse it for a fee, wound up costing the hospital $17,000 in untraceable bitcoin in order to restore the system. Though this phenomenon isn’t new, it does appear to be on the rise — especially in the healthcare industry — and CIOs nationwide are on high alert.
